Stalin took control of Russia by manipulating the citizens and the politicians of Russia. He was obviously very successful at what he did. When Stalin took the chair, he made sure that anyone that didn’t comply with what he said would be imprisoned and/or executed. When Poland was attacked by the Nazis, Stalin did not hesitate to protect and fight back at Germany. Within the
first few weeks Stalin was knocking down doors in his homeland looking for any spies or opposing foreigners. Stalin also set up one of the largest drafts ever issued in history. Stalin drafted anyone fit enough to fight. Citizens as young as fourteen and as old as 67 were out fighting for what they believed was the most important country.
Stalin succeeded greatly in gaining control over the government mostly because the country was in great poverty at the time, and leaders were short stacked. It was not very difficult to find a role in the government, even a huge role like the leader of the country. Stalin never had to deliver grand speeches to impress the council who would later be electing him as leader of Russia. Stalin was known to be a man of steel. The council knew that Stalin would never hesitate to make drastic decisions for the sake of their own country. The country was in shambles and this was exactly what Russia needed at the time.

Joseph and his military advisers came up with excellent and modern battle strategies that were far more superior to the tactics used in earlier wars. If Stalin never took lead of the Russian army in the first place, the modern world in which we live in today would have been extremely different.
